The rule being tested
The exercise uses trail, pure sequence, sequence, colour, pair and high card, in that order. It includes category comparisons and pair or high-card tiebreaks. It avoids questions whose outcome depends on whether A-2-3 or A-K-Q is ranked first.
The hands are fixed educational examples, not live deals. There is no shuffle, opponent account, pot, monetary chip balance or reward for a correct answer. Answers stay within the current page session and are not sent to a server.
Three worked examples
| Hand A | Hand B | Explanation |
|---|---|---|
| 2♠ 2♥ 2♦ | A♠ K♠ Q♠ | Trail beats pure sequence. |
| 7♠ 8♥ 9♦ | A♣ J♣ 6♣ | Sequence beats colour. |
| Q♠ Q♦ 3♥ | J♠ J♥ A♦ | Compare the pair first; queens beat jacks. |
For each comparison, say the category out loud before choosing. This helps separate recognising cards from guessing a winner based only on the highest visible rank.
Build a short practice routine
- Read the six-category chart.
- Answer the examples and read the explanation, including mistakes.
- Review ace sequence conventions separately.
- Stop after a short session. A practice goal does not require an unbroken correct streak.
